The Ministers of the Altar are responsible to assist the Priest with the smooth running of the Mass. This includes arriving at the church at least 30 minutes early to prepare, and staying after mass to lock up.

It is important to liaise with the other Ministries such as the Wardens, Ministers of the Eucharist, Altar Servers and Ministers of the Word.

The Ministers of the Altar help to distribute communion and also visit people who are unable to attend Mass.

The Ministry is open to both men and women and training is provided. It is a highly rewarding Ministry and a great honour to serve on the Altar.

You will need to be organised, disciplined and dedicated.
